Valle di Cogne

The Cogne Valley is unique in the regional context for its particular conformation which it is probably at the origin of its history. It seems established that the first inhabitants of the Valley colonized it "from above", therefore climbing over the Piedmont watershed crest and not from the Aosta Valley valley floor, rocky and difficult to access. In fact, the Cogne Valley is narrow and recessed up to the capital, where four large radial valleys crossed by a web of paths converge.
