The Dales Way

Year: 2009 Format: 12x17 Pages: 150 Photos: col The Dales Way is a delightful trek through the Yorkshire Dales and the eastern sector of the Lake District, between Ilkley and Bowness, for a total of 125 km which can be covered in 6 - 7 days of walking . It is one of the gentlest long-distance itineraries in Great Britain, suitable for all ages and an excellent testing ground for those who want to try their hand at this type of excursion. The route passes through Wharfedale, virtually traveling to the source of the great river before crossing Dentdale. After the villages of Dent and Sedbergh, you join the Rawthey and from here towards the west you enter the lake area. The great attraction of trekking are churches, ancient bridges, manor houses, hotels, Roman roads, stone circles and nature trails. Itinerary described in both directions. In English.
