Sport climbing in Malta & Gozo

The Maltese Islands are a quick destination for sport climbers, being reachable within a short flight time from most European cities. They offer over 500 bolted routes, easy access to all crags, short distances and mild climate, with climbing potential 12 months of the year. It is an interesting place to visit even with family too, with many cultural attractions in a limited area. Compared to the previous edition of 2007, many of the climbs and crags present are totally new and include more than 120 routes developed by the well-known climber Stevie Haston in Gozo during 2012. In Malta there are no mountains but a beautiful and rugged coast, caves and valleys offer excellent climbing opportunities on limestone of any level of difficulty, which so far reaches 8c+.
