Il Cammino Celeste

The Celeste Path connects Aquileia, the titular seat of a glorious patriarchate with a thousand-year history, to Mount Lussari, in the heart of the Julian Alps, on whose summit a Marian Sanctuary was built; approximately 200 kilometers long, it can be covered in approximately ten days mainly on dirt roads, country lanes and mountain paths. The Camino allows hikers to admire the enchanting landscape of Friuli Venezia Giulia in all its transformations, from the sea to the mountains. The guide is illustrated with 20 color photos and accompanied by 25 detailed maps with the description of the routes. The texts outline the places of greatest historical and artistic interest, narrate the anecdotes and legends of the Friulian territory, provide information on food and wine, languages, songs, dances, fauna, flora and healing herbs, which help to better understand local traditions and cultures.
