Val di Fassa corresponds to the upper part of the course of the Avisio, the important river that originates from the Marmolada glacier and opens at the center of the most famous Dolomite groups, known throughout the world for their extraordinary beauty. This book deals with the mountains located on the orographic left of the Avisio, from the Pordoi pass to the Vallès pass: the area largely belongs to the vast Marmolada group, further south the Bocche-Iuribrutto chain extends. The most beautiful routes of varying difficulty and difficulty are described in 20 itineraries, including some via ferratas and normal routes. In the extensive introduction and in the numerous in-depth information sheets, the environmental, geological and naturalistic peculiarities of the territory are illustrated, and the ethnographic and historical aspects are also treated, with particular attention to the events of the First World War.
