Escursioni in Lagorai e Cima d'Asta

The porphyries of Lagorai and the granites of Cima d'Asta are perhaps not so attractive in appearance, but it is enough to pass through these parts once, even by mistake, to be inexorably struck by the power that nature can express among these crests, on these slopes sometimes barren and sometimes very green, among the hundreds of lakes that dot the high altitude meadows, among the waters of roaring waterfalls and noisy, as well as numerous, streams. Mountains for true connoisseurs, mountains filled with silence, naked mountains, mountains where human presence is marginal and almost always respectful of the ways and times that nature has always imposed. Mountains of fire, whose genesis, although complicated and differentiated, speaks of catastrophic events, capable of modifying and distorting the landscape. Lagorai and Cima d'Asta are this, a mixture of opposing forces, of antithetical colours, of strong contrasts, but mixed with the lightness worthy of a great painter.
