The morphology of the Sette Comuni Plateau, also known as the Asiago Plateau, located in the Vicenza Prealps, offers an ideal environment for learning and exploring the area by mountain bike . The network of mule tracks, military roads and mountain hut service roads opens up countless possibilities for bikers of all abilities and physical preparations. The guide, written by Mario Busana, Enrico Manea and Alberto Manzan, presents 18 routes, of varying difficulty (easy, medium, difficult, very difficult); for each one a sheet has been created which shows the starting point, the length, the difference in altitude, the maximum altitude, the slope, the road surface, the travel time and the recommended period. The salient points, the directions to follow, the altitude profile, the cartography of the various stages are clearly described. In the introductory pages you will find preparatory information on mountain bike materials and techniques, basic equipment, adjustments and maintenance of the vehicle. The authors of the guide have tried not to overlap with the pedestrian path network, but when mountain biking it may happen that you cross sections of paths followed by hikers on foot. In such situations, the code of conduct adopted in the USA called NORBA (National Off Road Bicycle Association) applies which always gives priority to hikers on foot. The guide reports the rules of this code in the hope that it will be shared and followed by everyone.
