Alte vie del Sudtirolo

The "alte via" are more or less flat routes that take place at high altitude, connecting mountain huts or refuges. South Tyrol is full of such paths that cross flowery alpine meadows, pass over panoramic ridges, pass by enchanting lakes, opening up the view of sparkling glaciers or the fascinating spiers of the Dolomites. The well-known writer, one of the best experts on South Tyrol, published the first book on the country's high routes years ago, achieving gratifying success. With this expanded and improved second edition, also translated into Italian, he now presents 80 fascinating high routes, which can mostly be covered within the space of a day. The texts contain an introductory description for each excursion, the exact itinerary with the paths, data on altitude, differences in altitude, time required and any difficulties. The work is completed by the orientation mirror, clippings from local maps, the introduction, the alphabetical index and above all the splendid color photographs.
