Alpinismo in Valle Vigezzo

The Vigezzo Valley, although it does not present "famous" mountains, has aroused the interest of climbers since the last decades of the nineteenth century, who have concentrated above all on the rocky slopes of Gridone, Pioda di Crana, Scheggia, Pizzo Ragno, Laurasca and, more recently, Pizzo Stagno. Climbers who, starting from the Seventies, have written the history of valley mountaineering. Speaking of the Vigezzo peaks worthy of "mountaineering" attention, space has been given here to their history, focusing on the technical aspect of the various climbs, but above all on the human one, trying to transfer onto paper the emotions felt by the first climbers of those routes .
