Dallo Stelvio al Mare - Il Cammino della Memoria

This Walk of Remembrance is an ambitious project that combines the Passion for History with a great "randonée" across the Alps. In the late summer of 2014 we started from Lake Cancano (Bormio) and after 54 days of walking and climbing peaks we arrived in Trieste, concluding our project. During our expedition, to Levico, our team expanded with the arrival of Gabriel Perenzoni who concluded the Camino to Trieste with us and Gessica Spagnolli who accompanied us for some stages. We have tried to retrace the entire Italian-Austrian front as it was in 1915. We are aware that we have necessarily left out some important places for historical and war events but our starting logic was to trace a coherent historical and excursion line from Livigno in Trieste and the choices were not always easy. The complete route is quite demanding: more than 1100 kilometers of paths covered, 90,000 meters of altitude difference, 110 linked peaks. A total immersion in the history and majesty of the Alps. It is not easy to undertake a journey. Inertia blocks us in a state of stillness and we need a certain will to get out of this state and get on the road.
