Alta Via 1 delle Dolomiti

The Alta Via delle Dolomiti number 1 was the first to be conceived. Its route was inaugurated in 1966 and after fifty years it remains one of the most beautiful north-south routes in the Dolomites. It crosses the Braies valley, the Croda del Becco, the Fanes and Sennes plateaus, the Tofane, the Averau and the Nuvolau. After the Giau pass you go around the Pelmo and the Civetta. Finally, you cross the wild San Sebastiano-Tamer group and, after having also crossed La Schiara with via ferratas, the path ends in Belluno. The guide also describes the route that south of Belluno goes over Col Visentin and the hills of Conegliano. Following the course of the Piave, you reach Jesolo and then after another seven stages of paths through woods and river vegetation before and after the lagoon you reach Venice. The guide describes the route in great detail, which was recorded with GPS and transposed onto 20 tables at a scale of 1:50,000 and inserted into the text.
