Scialpinismo nelle Alpi Carniche

Ski mountaineering on the Carnic Main Range and in the southern Gail Alps has a very particular charm. It is the combination of the rustic and traditional charm of the Gail and Lesach valleys, combined with the typical Italian atmosphere that can be felt from the south, which generates the ideal conditions for an out-of-the-ordinary experience in these mountains still untouched by mass tourism. And we hope it stays that way in the future too! As far as snow is concerned, the area is generally considered safe (this at least applies to the north-facing climbs), and furthermore the ideal period to tackle the proposed itineraries is quite broad, from December to mid-April. Alongside the more classic routes, numerous hitherto unknown itineraries are also described here, including the legendary ski crossing from Sillian to the Monte Croce Carnico Pass.
