Il Sentiero del Viandante

The Sentiero del Viandante represents one of the treasures of Lake Como, one of the most beautiful treks in Italy. More than anywhere else, on this happy shore of the lake, one walks to contemplate. The route runs on the Lecco shore of Manzonian memory, and is covered in several stages, ending at the railway stations for day trips or at B&Bs for a continuous trek. It is a path for everyone, which offers a real panoramic balcony over the lake. It unfolds surprises everywhere: panoramas, geological and botanical singularities, testimonies of faith and cornerstones of history, places of popular imagination, fragments of fields, farmhouses, vineyards and olive groves that make up a picture celebrated by poets and writers. You pass through Varenna and Bellano, go up Valtellina after having skirted the slopes of Monte Legnone among the chestnut groves and the classic 'mountains', small farmhouses, and end in Val di Mello, in the presence of the 'giants' of the Rhaetian Alps. Well equipped and signposted, the first trail certified by the Italian Touring Club, the Viandante is at the top of the pre-Alpine trail rankings. The guide also includes the new connecting section between Lecco and Abbadia Lariana and the extension beyond Colico towards Morbegno and Val Masino with arrival in Val di Mello.
