The Robert Louis Stevenson trail - GR70

The GR70 trek, 140 km in 12 stages in southern France from Le Puy to Saint-Jean-du-Gard. A guide to walking in Stevenson's footsteps as he traveled through the Velay and Cévennes regions, accompanied by his faithful donkey Modestine. It is passable for a good part of the year apart from the snowy months. Exceptional in spring and autumn. The main centers are at both ends of the route, Le Puy and St Jean de Gard as well as Florac, Fouzillac, La Bastide-Puylaurent, Pradelles and Le Pont de Montvert. Trekking of notable historical interest, includes visits to splendid ancient villages, deep gorges, splendid hilly landscapes.
