Sentier vers Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle via Le Puy

Of the four French routes to Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle, the "Route du Puy" is probably the best known and also the closest to historical reality. From the wild beauty of some of its stages and the majesty of the great monuments of faith, the route winds through the Velay, the Margeride and the Aubrac. This series of low mountains dotted with characteristic and small scattered villages is located at the edge of Rouergue, a historic region of Occitania. Velay is full of volcanic peaks, Margeride offers the face of a mysterious land, strewn with granite. Finally, the natural meadows of Aubrac, lakes and waterways, with traditional pastoral life.
