Fiori delle Dolomiti

The Dolomites offer grandiose landscape scenarios: it is no coincidence that they have been defined as "the most beautiful mountains in the world". But what would the Dolomites be without their flowers? Perhaps an empty frame, albeit a spectacular one. This volume, dealing with plant life and, in particular, with the splendid flowers that decorate the thousand recesses of these mountains, combines the Dolomite scenarios with their colors and fascinating shapes. Flowers of the Dolomites, in this work, does not just mean a sequence of beautiful images and more or less complicated scientific names, but a guide to reading the Dolomite environment itself. Of its floral habitats and biotopes, so that their observation is the result of conscious research. And this also through a rich proposal of botanical excursions, in search of the same floral jewels that decorate the landscapes of these mountains. A systemic approach, therefore; indeed, eco-systemic, to combine the knowledge of flowers with that of the complex and astonishing Dolomite ecosystem.
