Year: 2004 Pages: 194 In the tragic and convulsive days after September 8, a fifteen-year-old from Turin opens his eyes to the deceptions of fascism and takes a stand against the abuses of the Germans. With a peer the former table joins the famous "rebels" in the mountains of the Susa Valley and becomes a partisan. On April 18, 1945, during a roundup he was captured, imprisoned in Susa and sentenced to death. He saves him on the 25th of Aorile, the Liberation, but as soon as he is outside he discovers that in the meantime his 114th Garibaldi brigade has been attacked in force and that sixteen comrades have died, including his friend Giuseppe. Why on earth such an organized and merciless massacre just a few days after the end of the war? Sixty years after the events, the former partisan returns to the scene, tracks down and interrogates the survivors because he wants to know and thoroughly clarify the atrocious bloody event. From his investigation a true story emerges, dry and dramatic like a neorealist film.
