Alto Appennino Modenese dal Cimone all'Abetone

The guide describes a dense web of paths on the Emilian side of the high Apennine ridge, which goes from Cimone to Abetone and reaches, towards the North, beyond the two sides of the Scoltenna valley, up to Via Giardini, between Lama Mocogno and the Castle of the Montecuccoli. Attached to the guide, there are also 9 cartographic tables at 1:25,000 scale (easily handled and stored in a special transparent bag to keep in your pocket or backpack) with all the paths in the covered area highlighted, detected with GPS. The hiker therefore does not need anything else to go on a safe excursion. Of the 91 itineraries described, 21 are new, 22 are circular and 69 on online routes; 53 take place on paths marked by the CAI and the remaining marked by local organizations or enthusiasts, or even without trail signs. However, for each itinerary all the data is indicated to allow each hiker to choose the most suitable route, such as difficulty, length in kilometres, differences in altitude and walking hours. The author does not limit himself to the precise and detailed description of the path, but enlightens the reader on everything encountered: towns, villages, waterways, parks, naturalistic, historical, architectural emergencies, panoramas and curiosities. All the accommodation facilities present in the treated area are also indicated, with all the data necessary to book for lunch or the night. All hikers, from the less experienced to the more experienced, will certainly find the most suitable itinerary. The network of paths described also allows the more experienced to create their own itinerary using the descriptions in the book and the attached maps as a basis. Among the many treks that can be done using the guide, about ten are proposed, the majority of which are intended for weekends.
