«I was looking for wolves, I found me». «My wolf crossed my path one summer afternoon a few kilometers from home. He jumped onto the provincial road suddenly, but calmly, and crossed it with a slow and sure pace, almost not touching the asphalt. He turned to look at me, we stared at each other for a moment, just enough time to leave me a message, and like an angel he disappeared, slipping into the thick vegetation beyond the ditch. While everything seemed insurmountable, work ending, failure closing the heart in a vice, friendships drifting away, while life seemed to collapse on itself, a wolf appeared like a flash of light at the gates of my personal hell. His senseless appearance, in a strange place, at an equally strange time, gave me great faith in the future, even though nothing at that moment seemed to have a solution. But I believed him, I gritted my teeth. Sometimes guardian angels take on strange appearances." She set out on the trail of wolves as a Natural Sciences student, when as a thesis she had to look for signs of the presence of the wolf to study its genetics. He never left them again. Today Mia is a "wolfologist", and she is one of the most knowledgeable. Among her activities, she is also committed to teaching people to live with the animal of which men have an ancestral fear and an infinite attraction. Mia's personal experience is intertwined with the greatest story of the wolf in Italy, and is the story of a boundless love, of puppies saved and left in the heart, like Achilles, and of others lost, a love sometimes reciprocated, to sometimes not. And it is also the story of how the wolves taught her to follow the path of freedom.
