Cervino, Valtournenche, Valle di Saint-Barthélemy - VIE NORMALI

This first volume of the Via Normali Valle d'Aosta series examines all the peaks listed and indicated as such in the official cartography of the Valle d'Aosta Autonomous Region, which fall as access from the Saint Barthélemy Valley and Valtournenche, for a total of 95 peaks. No peak was left out and all the routes were climbed personally by the authors, almost exclusively in the 2018 summer season. Some mountains have logical climbing routes from more than one side and from different valleys, but in this case the routes technically easier and with the most logical route, with the least difference in altitude, with an easier approach and with a shorter duration. However, any variations and other possibilities of climbing to the same peak are indicated in the respective entries. Some peaks which are part of the geographical, visual and mountaineering horizon of these valleys, but which present a shorter, logical and safer normal route (also in relation to the transformations of the mountains which have occurred in recent decades) which develops from the neighboring valleys, are included in the relevant volumes of the series and in particular in Volume 2.
