In 27 stages you cross five protected areas between parks and reserves where the wolf and the Apennine chamois are witnesses of an area rich in biodiversity. But the surprises don't end there. The gullies of Montefeltro, the imposing limestone gorges of Frasassi, the centuries-old beech forests of Monte Catria, Cucco and Canfaito. And yet the ever-changing landscapes of the Sibillini, the famous Lake Pilato and the wild Laga complete the picture of a territory waiting to be discovered. The long crossing of the Alta Via can be broken up into treks lasting 2 or more days, but it can also be done in one-day excursions for an experience within everyone's reach. From north to south of the region, the Alta Via winds along paths and cart tracks until it reaches the highest peaks of the Marche: from Sasso Simone to the legendary peaks of Monte Sibilla, Pizzo del Diavolo, and Monte Vettore and Macera della Death.
