For the first time a volume systematically presents the Wilderness areas of our country. Places often protected as reservoirs of rare flora and fauna species, not easy to reach, sometimes even almost inaccessible because they are distant from the main communication routes or simply due to their impervious terrain. Places where human presence is "not expected": the antithesis of tourism. Generally mountain areas or located along the coasts, and surprisingly, not far from large cities. A long journey into the Italy of abandonment, of ancient forests, of rocky gorges, of emerald rivers.
