Like all mountains, even those of the Apennines hide, among valleys and ridges, secrets and mysteries, magical or disturbing places that have been the scene of events whose facts and implications are not completely, or not at all, clarified. The volume offers seven stories that straddle fantasy and reality and seven hiking itineraries that travel through the places where the events took place. The theme of the stories ranges from the kidnapping of Aldo Moro searched in vain at the Duchessa lake, to the death of the black terrorist Esposti at Lake Rascino; from the secrets of the Soratte bunker to those linked to the figure of Pope Celestine V.
