Alberto, a young high school student, demonstrates for the freedom of Chile. Forty years later he decides to discover Chilean Patagonia by pedal, a fascinating territory inhabited by a wild and often hostile nature, furrowed from fjords, volcanoes, impenetrable forests clinging to the rugged Andes, boundless expanses of glaciers, and populated by wild animals. Alberto gets on his bicycle in the company of his son Fausto and his trusted friend Dino to cross this territory along the Carretera Austral, a must on the road, in the direction of Ushuaia. 1240 kilometers towards nowhere will make the three protagonists roll southwards, tossed as if in a centrifuge by the ripio, the infamous dirt surface.
