Here is the fourth of the five volumes, told and illustrated by over 1000 photographs. Within this route we find 300 ancient villages, castles still intact and others reduced to ruins, parishes and churches of great religious and artistic value, monasteries, hermitages and an unlimited number of majesties, waterways, alpine peaks of unparalleled beauty , an extraordinary gentle and proud people with an open smile, but veiled in melancholy and all this to talk about the origins through the history of each village, make them revive and exalt them as a single agglomeration, the Apuan village, extraordinary and unique in the world that Human greed and carelessness risk dispersing to the winds. The environment is completed by woods and pine forests which make the landscape one of the greenest in Italy, a multitude of flowers and plants, a rich and varied fauna. Public roads and routes marked by the CAI facilitate knowledge of these places.
