Pista ciclabile dei Tauri

The majestic Alpine chain of the Hohe Tauern (Hohe Tauern) in Austria gave its name to this cycle path (in German: ”Tauern-Radweg”). But don't worry: the itinerary takes place on flat ground along the Salzach river valley, and only occasionally features some slight climbs. Along the 320 kilometers of the itinerary through the Salzburg area, from the majestic Krimml waterfalls to the pre-Alpine hills, you overcome a difference in altitude of 750 meters downhill. While at the beginning of the journey the three thousand meter snow-capped peaks characterize the landscape, in the lower reaches of the Salzach and the Inn you pass through vast river forests.
