This book is the third stage of an editorial journey that Claudio Bocchi began in 2007 with Apuane 35 peaks in 55 excursions and continued in 2014 with Apuane 80 classic and adventure itineraries, for which he wanted to associate me with him as the author; now Claudio has preferred to leave the baton to me alone, although he continues to assist me with his friendship, competence and advice, and often also with his presence on the ground. The 2014 book, since it took up and rewrote all the itineraries of the 2007 one, reabsorbed it into itself and effectively replaced it, even if it then added many new excursions and somehow modified the spirit of the discussion: the presence of of the word 'adventure' in the subtitle. Apuane 2, on the other hand, does not replace Apuane from 2014 but joins it, since its 100 itineraries are all original (with the exception of a very few, taken but expanded starting from a few hints and completely rewritten). The profound reasons for this book remain those of Apuane, and its subtitle confirms it; if we no longer talk about classical itineraries it is because the number of those that can be classified in this way is not unlimited, and for the most part they have already been described in Apuane; the few remaining, however (e.g. the north ridge of Pania Secca or the south ridge of Matanna), are recovered here; and to the adventure itineraries there are others which are not difficult but certainly little known: for example. Alpe di S. Pellegrinetto and M. Tre Corna, or the tour between Stazzema Pomezzana and Farnocchia. It must then be specified that, if Apuane 2 is sufficient in itself, it nevertheless presupposes the previous book: if in the new one, in fact, routes up to mountains of primary importance such as Sagro, Contrario, Cavallo and Corchia are not described, the reason is that Apuane had already exhausted them, so to speak. In the writer's intent, the two guides form a diptych which as a whole has the ambition of offering the reader a review, if not complete (which would be impossible) certainly very rich, of the high-level hiking possibilities offered by the Alps Apuane: and therefore in the text of Apuane 2 the reference to the Apuane itineraries is precise, with the aim of always showing the reader, area by area, the overall picture of the itineraries described by the two books together. Since the itineraries of Apuane 2 are largely demanding, the book is aimed at expert hikers who are capable, if necessary, of some elementary mountaineering maneuvers; who, regardless of qualifications or badges, has long experience of trips in the mountains and in particular in the Apuan Alps, of which - incidentally - he will generally have to know having already traveled the CAI paths; and that (this recommendation, which unfortunately recurring news events now make necessary) never rely on GPS traces found who knows where, when they clearly conflict with what appears to the eyes and, above all, to the head. Apuane di Lunigiana, Apuane di Carrara, Val Serenaia, Pisanino, Zucchi di Cardeto, Valloni di Forno, Tambura, Roccandagia, Resceto, Apuane di Renara, Fiocca, Sumbra, Alta Versilia, CorchiaValle del Vezza, Garfagnana.
