An impressive work, a true dream book for lovers of summit climbs: 283 itineraries chosen from the most beautiful and imposing peaks of 43 mountain groups, divided into two volumes. The first volume, dedicated to the western valleys, offers 133 climbs chosen from the 19 mountain groups to the west of the Adige valley: Sesvenna Group, Ötztal and Passirie Alps, Tessa Group, Western Breonie Alps, Sarentini Group, 'Ortles, Gavia Group, Cevedale Group, Maddalene Range, Mendola Range, Adamello Group, Presanella Group, Brenta Group, Cadria Group, Gardesane Prealps, Small Brescian Dolomites, Tremalzo Group, Monte Baldo and Pizzocolo Group. All the proposed routes are selected for their panoramic views and difficulty. There are few itineraries with mountaineering difficulties above grade II, but not all climbs are hiking: some require knowledge of progression on a glacier, the use of a via ferrata set, the ability to move by supporting your hands. In the end; there are proposals for almost all seasons: in both volumes we find itineraries of the actual Alpine arc with high altitudes and ice, to be followed in the height of summer, and itineraries on mountain groups closer to the Po Valley, therefore viable until autumn late or in winters with little rainfall.
