La montagna a scuola: cartografia, vocabolario, web

Year: 2008 Format: 15x22 Pages: 144 Photos: b/w with Verbal language and cartographic language are characterized as symbolic codes, which act in synergy to describe the world and communicate knowledge of it to others. In this case they were put to good use by very young students from various regions of Italy, by their teachers and by researchers from the imont (National Mountain Institute) and the aig (Italian Association of Geography Teachers) with the aim of valorising and disseminating the characteristics and traditions of the Italian mountains, understood as a territorial system. The text, in addition to providing the school world with valid ideas for methodological-didactic updating, is an interesting read for anyone who feels linked, directly or indirectly, to the mountain environment and shares the need for protection and development, starting from a work to raise awareness among the new generations and from the hypothesis of building a 'Mountain Vocabulary' as a place in which experiences, knowledge, perceptions and emotions can flow together.
