L'estasi della corsa selvaggia

Evolution has given us bipeds a particular step alternative to galloping: running. A gesture that was not born on the athletics tracks, but in the wild world, in the vastness of savannahs and plateaus, in the tundras and mountains, alongside trotting and galloping animals in an astonishing mix of collaboration and competition. A dimension in which physical effort is compensated - it always is in vital activities for survival - by a sort of ecstasy, made up of the perception of beauty and the amplification of the imagination, in which time expands and slows down: as in dream, in a few real moments infinite stories flow into consciousness. A liberating experience similar to music, in empathy with animals and mountains, which goes beyond skyrunning and which loses the original predatory meaning by disarming the running body to the point of abolishing the calculation of time.
