Paolo Caruso, Alpine Guide known for his innovative study of movement in climbing, now tackles the study of skiing techniques off-piste and in fresh snow, from a new perspective, thanks to the experience gained with the Caruso Method ®. The Art of Skiing Beyond the Slopes is a unique book, from many points of view. First of all because it offers an organic technical-didactic system for ski mountaineering that addresses all the problems and situations peculiar to this discipline, from ascent and descent techniques, to weight, body and ski management, to breathing, in different situations of snow and slopes. The author successfully applies the founding principles of the Caruso Method ® - initially created for climbing - to ski mountaineering, thus demonstrating the universality of the concepts, but also of the approach underlying them. The Art of Skiing is a manual, in the sense that it explains "how to" in an articulated and complete way, maintaining a practical and concise style that facilitates consultation and learning. This is also thanks to the impressive photographic kit that supports the understanding of the techniques and exercises proposed. In this sense it is a manual that is aimed at everyone, including blind skiers to whom 2 chapters are dedicated. But at the same time it is a "philosophy" of practicing ski mountaineering and sport in general, aimed above all at those with the necessary passion and motivation.
