Alpinismo eroico

Heroic Alpinism, edited at the time by the CAI national committee for the honors of Emilio Comici, contains a preface by one of the most beloved Alpine presidents of all time, Angelo Manaresi and collects all of Comici's writings. These are the reports of the climbs carried out by the mountaineer from Trieste between 1925 and 1940. Re-presenting today the thoughts of this mountaineer, a star before his time and at the same time a passionate popularizer of a new way of climbing, means refocusing not only on the person of Comedians, but also his historical function in light of what was done after him. The volume ends with contributions by great mountaineers of the time, such as Julius Kugy, Tito Piaz, Giuseppe Pirovano and many others. In the appendix, the list of all the first ascents made by the Trieste climber. Originally published by Hoepli in 1942, the volume is reproduced here in an anastatic reprint enriched by an afterword by Spiro Dalla Porta-Xydias, author of two biographies and on Comici and a true link between the world of mountaineering experienced and practiced from Comedians and today's one. The work concludes with the essay Comedians and sixth grade mountaineering written by Marco Albino Ferrari, founder and director of the magazine "Meridiani Montagne" and well-known author, winner of several literary prizes.
