Alfredo Corti

Alfredo Corti (Tresivio 1880 - Rome 1973) was one of the greatest and most charismatic mountaineers from Valtellina, capable of combining long and demanding exploratory climbs with an unusual ability to describe and illustrate them with photography. University professor, proud anti-fascist, he participated in the partisan resistance alongside figures who resurrected Italy from the ashes of the Twenty Years and the Second World War. This is his first biography, the result of extensive, largely unpublished research, conducted by the academic member of the Italian Mountain Writers Group Raffaele Occhi. The English version, edited by Kim Sommerschield, offers the international public the opportunity to closely follow almost a century of Italian history, through the biography of an intellectual with a European dimension.
